Environmental Trust Fund supports Petitcodiac River projects (10/06/23)

MONCTON (CNB) - The provincial government, through the Environmental Trust Fund (ETF), is investing in two environmental projects that will be beneficial to the Petitcodiac River.

"I am pleased that the ETF is providing $60,000 in support to these important environmental projects," said Natural Resources Minister Wally Stiles. "This funding will enable community groups to undertake monitoring activities in an effort to improve water quality in the Petitcodiac River."

Stiles spoke on behalf of Environment Minister Rick Miles.

The projects receiving funding are:

Each year, the ETF provides significant support to community-based initiatives to restore, improve, preserve and protect air, land and water resources.

The department announced in April that almost $4 million from the ETF would be invested in 172 environmental projects throughout New Brunswick in 2010-11.
