Employer seminar to help retain employees (08/10/20)

SAINT JOHN (CNB) - A seminar will be held this Thursday, Oct. 23, to teach employers how to attract and retain the best employees. The event, called "Help Wanted...PLEASE!," will take place at the Delta Brunswick Hotel in Saint John.

"I believe that this seminar will be of great value to New Brunswick employers," said Mary Schryer, minister responsible for the status of women. "Hiring and retaining the best employees is integral to the growth of a company. By accelerating their growth, these companies will be able to contribute better to our provincial economy."

Speakers will include Gene Fowler, president of Fatkat Animation Studio; Kevin Brown from Kensington Associates; Deborah Armstrong, acting director, graduate business program, UNBSJ; and Michelle Alcorn, branch manager, Moncton, Spherion Inc.

Among the topics to be discussed will include unique methods of attracting employees; the creation of employer brands; how to maximize opportunities; and how to make the most of existing resources.

The seminar will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. The cost is $125. Online registration and further details are available.
