FREDERICTON (CNB) - Social Development Minister Kelly Lamrock issued the following message recognizing November as National Adoption Month:
Each November, we take the time to celebrate National Adoption Month. It is a time where we recognize the families that have already adopted children as well as those who have just begun the long journey to welcoming a child or children into their homes.
The road to adoption is not always smooth, and I would like to recognize and thank all who have invested considerable time and energy into having a child/ren join their family through the adoption process.
I also acknowledge the hard work of all of the staff working to match children with loving families. Their professionalism and dedication to bringing kids and parents together in a "forever" home help make the entire adoption process much easier for all involved.
Finally, I recognize the New Brunswick Adoption Foundation for all of the work it does year-round to provide a way for the private sector, community groups and individuals to promote and raise awareness of the importance of adoption of New Brunswick children.
Adoption is a rewarding experience. During National Adoption Month, let us all take the time to celebrate all of the families and people who make a difference in the lives of New Brunswick's children.
