FREDERICTON (CNB) - Local Government Minister Bernard LeBlanc issues the following message in support of Adopt-A-Dog Month, designated by the New Brunswick Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NBSPCA). Adopt-A-Dog Month is being observed in October.
As minister responsible for the New Brunswick Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, I commend the NBSPCA for its work and dedication to animals.
Our government is supportive of the Adopt-A-Dog Month campaign, and I encourage those who have been considering adopting a dog to take action during October. Adopting a dog from an animal shelter reduces the pet overpopulation and may provide families with great companionship.

The NBSPCA and its branch societies are charitable organizations that rely on donations from the public. I encourage all New Brunswickers to support the NBSPCA in any way they can. Whether it is by donating your time to help shelters with animals in their care, or by making a financial donation - every little bit counts and goes a long way toward the protection of people as well as animals in our province.
