Individuals may now apply online for agencies, boards and commissions (10/05/06)

FREDERICTON (CNB) - New Brunswickers who wish to serve on agencies, boards and commissions which fall under the Department of Local Government's mandate may now apply online.

The selection of successful candidates will be based on merit, with special efforts to promote diversity and inclusion of New Brunswick's two official linguistic communities, as well as women, First Nations, persons with disabilities, visible minority groups, and all regions of the province.

Agencies, boards and commissions provide advice to government and function at arm's-length from government departments. Vacancies will be posted online on a regular basis. Individuals may apply by e-mail, mail or fax.

By visiting the department website, interested individuals will be able to indicate their interest, qualifications and experience, and find information such as the mandate of the agency, board or commission, member qualifications and length of term for the specific position.
