FREDERICTON (CNB) - Free well water testing is being provided by the Department of Health for residents in a Fredericton subdivision that has had sewage back-up problems.
Residents of the Howorth Acres subdivision have expressed concern that problems with the sewage system could be contaminating their ground water.
In response, water testing will be conducted for each residence. Public health inspection officials began collecting water samples in the subdivision Wednesday.
Anyone who was not home was left a notice asking they contact public health to arrange another time for an inspector to take a bacteriological sample.
Once samples have been collected and test results become available, the information will be shared with the homeowner.
