FREDERICTON (CNB) - Nominations are being sought by the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission for the 23rd annual New Brunswick Human Rights Award.
The award was established in order to recognize outstanding effort, achievement or leadership on a volunteer basis by individuals and organizations in the promotion of equality and human rights in New Brunswick.
The award was founded in 1988 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is presented annually to commemorate New Brunswick Human Rights Day, which is celebrated on Sept. 15.
Last year's recipient was the Woodstock High School Lady Thunder hockey team.
The deadline for nominations is April 22, 2010.
