FREDERICTON (CNB) - Jamie Wolverton has been appointed as the new executive director of the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame.

"We are delighted to have someone with Jamie's knowledge and energy join our executive team," said John Esterbrooks, chair of the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame's board of governors.

Wolverton is a graduate of the University of New Brunswick, and has more than 13 years of professional experience in managing and leading community-based, not-for-profit organizations. Most recently he served for 10 years as general manager of the Snowmobilers Association of Nova Scotia, where he was instrumental in raising the organization's profile, and ensuring its financial viability.

"I am ecstatic about coming home to New Brunswick, and I am truly honoured to lead the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame," said Wolverton.

The New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1970 to recognize and honour outstanding New Brunswick athletes, teams and sport builders, and to preserve and celebrate New Brunswick's sports heritage. It is located at 503 Queen St., Fredericton.
