FREDERICTON (CNB) - Pierre Beaudoin has been hired as the new executive director of the New Brunswick Police Commission (NBPC).

"We are very pleased to have Pierre Beaudoin join the commission as executive director," said Peter Seheault, NBPC chair. "His experience will be of great benefit to the commission's investigative and review work."

Beaudoin has spent many years in an investigator role. Most recently, he worked as a senior investigator for the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages of New Brunswick. He also has 30 years' experience as a police officer. During his policing career, he advised on issues of discipline, discharge, and managed the public complaint process. In 2002, he was a recipient of Her Majesty's Jubilee Medal.

The NBPC is an independent oversight body that investigates and resolves complaints relating to the conduct of police officers. It also looks into any other aspect of police services, including the review of police force adequacy in New Brunswick.
