FREDERICTON (CNB) - Non-profit groups are invited to attend 10 free professional development and training sessions that will be held around the province.
The sessions are being organized by the Community Non-Profit Organizations Secretariat in partnership with its advisory committee.
The Be Connected - Community Partnerships in Action meetings will be held from Oct. 6 to Nov. 3. Each meeting will include two hours of training on the basics of fundraising for non-profit organizations.
"During the consultation process, non-profit groups told the Premier's Task Force that they need training on how to raise funds," said Brian Kenny, minister responsible for Community Non-Profit Organizations Secretariat. "This was reconfirmed during a recent survey initiated by the secretariat. We are pleased to be moving forward with fulfilling their request. Fundraising is important for sector growth and for strengthening the work that non-profits carry out each day."
Kenny said the regional meetings will also provide an opportunity for non-profit organizations to continue networking, sharing successes and interacting with one another. There will be updates on the actions and accomplishments from Delivering on the Blueprint. Organizations will also have the opportunity to develop regional action plans to further strengthen their connectivity and capacity in their region.
"As a government, we fully recognize the value and critical role that non-profit organizations and volunteers play in our province and, as outlined in Delivering on the Blueprint, we are ready to help them reach their goals," Kenny said.
The schedule for the meetings is as follows:
