FREDERICTON (CNB) - Anglers in New Brunswick may apply for the annual Crown reserve angling draw beginning Monday, Jan. 11.
"This draw is only open to New Brunswick residents and provides an opportunity to acquire recreational angling privileges on one of 20 prime stretches on the Miramichi, Restigouche and Patapedia rivers," said Natural Resources Minister Wally Stiles. "These are some of the best waters anywhere to fly-fish for trout and Atlantic salmon, so I encourage New Brunswick anglers to take advantage of this great opportunity."
Anglers may apply online. Mail-in applications are available at Department of Natural Resources offices and Service New Brunswick centres.
Successful applicants will be awarded Crown reserve angling privileges on only one location and date. Individual names may not appear on more than one application form. Each party may apply for up to five specific locations and dates.
Applications for the 2010 Crown reserve angling draw must be received by the Department of Natural Resources' Fish and Wildlife Branch before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 5. The address: Department of Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife Branch, P.O. Box 6000, Fredericton, NB, E3B 5H1. The draw will be held at the end of March.
