FREDERICTON (CNB) - Seven new members have been appointed to the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation Board of Trustees. Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Ed Doherty made the announcement today.
"I wish to express my sincere gratitude to these New Brunswickers for agreeing to serve in this capacity," Doherty said. "These new members bring impressive backgrounds and professional experiences to the board. I commend the work of the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation, which directly benefits our province's public libraries and bookmobiles."

The new members are appointed for a three-year term and will join current board members François Levert (treasurer) of Fredericton, Judy Heron of Rothesay and Frank Johnston of Grand Falls. The foundation is comprised of 10 members from throughout the province appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council.
The New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation was established in 1997. Its mandate is to raise funds in support of the development and promotion of the New Brunswick public library system. Since its inception through the support of numerous donors and partnerships, the New Brunswick Public Libraries Foundation has contributed close to $700,000 toward improving the collections of books and other materials in New Brunswick's public libraries and bookmobiles.
