FREDERICTON (CNB) - The provincial government has contracted the services of a human resources advisory firm to search for members of two boards of governors that will be created as part of pending changes to the community college system.
The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour has contracted Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette, a highly experienced and independent recruitment, career transition and human resources advisory firm, to conduct the search for members of the two boards. Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette soon will place advertisements in provincial newspapers and on the Government of New Brunswick website.
"This is a very exciting time in the history of our community college system," said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault. "We are looking for leaders who have a shared interest in developing a strong dynamic community college system in our province. Be inspired. Be ready. Be better. The action plan to transform post-secondary education outlined an array of proposed changes to the province's post-secondary education sector, including the establishment of a new, arm's-length governance model for the community college system."
It is proposed that two new college corporations be established: one francophone and one anglophone. Each college corporation will have a board of governors and a president.
Each board will be comprised of up to 15 members. They will be chosen based on geographical representation and competencies, which will include financial management, human resources, business management, board governance experience and post-secondary education.
Persons interested in sitting on the New Brunswick Community College board may contact Knightsbridge Robertson Surrette by sending a cover letter along with their résumé to NBCC@kbrs.ca.
