Official opening of modernized sections of the Université de Moncton, Edmundston campus (10/04/09)

EDMUNDSTON (CNB) - The modernized sections of the Simon Larouche building at the Université de Moncton, Edmundston campus, were officially opened today.

Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault, Edmundston Mayor Jacques Martin, and Université de Moncton President Yvon Fontaine were in attendance.

"I am happy to see with my own eyes the results of investing a total of $2.2 million in Phase 3 of this renovation project," Arseneault said. "This must be viewed as much more than a building modernization on this campus. Above all, it is a major educational project, whose impacts will be felt first by the students and then by our entire region."

Phase 3 was made possible through five government programs:

Renovations were carried out in three phases. The first one was completed in December 2006.

The official opening of the modernized sections of the Université de Moncton, Edmundston campus, is an integral part of Be Inspired. Be Ready. Be Better. The Action Plan to Transform Post-Secondary Education in New Brunswick.
