FREDERICTON (CNB) - Eight provincial employers will join the Population Growth Secretariat at the CareerDoor Technology and Technology Sales career fair today in Toronto to encourage job seekers to live and be successful in New Brunswick.
"This event extends our practice of undertaking recruitment missions with New Brunswick employers looking to hire individuals with specific skills, whom they can't find in New Brunswick," said Business New Brunswick Minister Greg Byrne, who is also minister responsible for the population growth secretariat. "Currently, New Brunswick has a lot to offer newcomers and former New Brunswickers alike, and our need for people will continue to grow as we move toward being a self-sufficient province. This is why we have been active in promoting our Nbjobs.ca website, both through our recent 'Be...in this place' marketing campaign, and through these recruitment events."
The New Brunswick employers are looking to fill between 30-45 positions, and include Spielo, Professional Quality Assurance, Medavie Blue Cross, McCain Foods Ltd., J.D. Irving Ltd., the City of Moncton, Enterprise Fredericton, and Enterprise Saint John. The number of employers is up from six last year.
The Population Growth Secretariat, the City of Moncton and the Enterprise networks will be advertising positions for employers in their respective regions who were unable to attend.
The fair is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, Rooms 103/104, 255 Front St. West, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST.
A large audience is expected to attend, since participating companies will be able to draw on an established base of interested parties independently compiled by CareerDoor.
