FREDERICTON (CNB) - Exciting job opportunities, excellent educational facilities and a great quality of life may be found now in New Brunswick. This is the message Greg Byrne, minister of New Brunswick's Population Growth Secretariat, will be promoting at this year's National Job Fair and Training Expo in Toronto.

"There are many employers now in New Brunswick who need workers," Byrne said. "With the jobs available in our province now, and with more new jobs on the horizon, New Brunswick is truly the place to be for people who want to start or continue a dynamic career."

New Brunswick will send its largest-ever delegation of 14 companies and organizations on the recruitment mission, which will be led by the secretariat. The job fair will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Tuesday, March 31, and Wednesday, April 1.

The delegation will give visitors to the secretariat's New Brunswick Recruitment Zone direct access to New Brunswick employment opportunities in a range of sectors. These will include energy, trades, manufacturing, information technology, construction, engineering and education.

The New Brunswick Recruitment Zone will also provide visitors with information about New Brunswick's training and continuing education programs, and about running a small business in the province.

"The Government of New Brunswick is pleased to be a sponsor of this national event, as it is a fantastic forum for thousands of people to learn about the job and educational opportunities in our province," said Byrne. "I encourage everyone to visit our unique recruitment zone to find out why they should be in New Brunswick."

This will be the fifth recruitment mission undertaken by the Population Growth Secretariat. Previous missions targeted workers in the information and technology (IT) sector in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. These missions were among the commitments made in New Brunswick's population growth strategy, which is integral to achieving the government's goal of achieving self-sufficiency by 2026
