PAQUETVILLE (CNB) - An additional $10 million added by the province will extend two economic development funds in northern New Brunswick, Premier Shawn Graham announced today.
"Today's important announcement for the economic development of Restigouche-Chaleur and the Acadian Peninsula will help set the regions and New Brunswick on a path to self-sufficiency by 2026," Graham said.
In Restigouche-Chaleur the province is adding $5 million to extend the Restigouche-Chaleur Economic Development Fund to a $30-million initiative for the region. An additional $5 million will be provided to extend the Acadian Peninsula Economic Development Fund to a $50-million initiative.
Both economic development funds support projects focusing on diversification; infrastructure; research and development; and training and education. Both funds expire on April 30, 2009.
