ST. STEPHEN (CNB) - Details of the government's investments in health and senior care will be unveiled in the legislative assembly this week, Premier Shawn Graham announced today.
Graham made the announcement at Lincourt Manor in St. Stephen, starting a week when the government will release details of investments in health and senior care.
While general details were contained in the 2010-11 provincial budget, unveiled Dec. 1, specific initiatives for health care and seniors will be expanded upon in the departmental budget estimates being tabled this week.
"The government is focused on three priorities this year: jobs, learning and health and senior care," Graham said. "The government is committed to ensuring opportunities exist for all New Brunswickers to obtain quality health and senior care."
While in St. Stephen, the premier announced that the government will create a satellite dialysis unit at the Charlotte County Hospital, representing an investment of nearly $1.4 million in 2010-11. He also announced:
"I look forward to debating these important investments for our future in the legislative assembly, beginning tomorrow," Graham said. "The government has and will continue to make the changes and investments needed today to achieve self-sufficiency tomorrow."
