FREDERICTON (CNB) - New Brunswickers are being reminded to prepare for the approaching winter storm as part of their overall plans to be ready for winter.
The Department of Public Safety's Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) issued this statement today. EMO is monitoring the situation and is working closely with NB Power.
Families should be prepared to be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours following a storm. The EMO website contains important information on how to prepare an emergency kit for home and car; what to do during power outages; and how to keep safe during outages.
A basic emergency kit should include food, water, batteries and radio, first aid supplies, and any special items such as prescription medications, infant formula and equipment for people with disabilities.
