FREDERICTON (CNB) - The following ice movement bulletin is issued by River Watch 2009 and the Department of Public Safety's New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization on Friday, March 27, 2009.
As the spring freshet season has begun, persons living or working along streams, tributaries and rivers in the province are asked to be on the alert for ice movement and the possibility of ice-jam formation resulting in water-level increases.
In response to forecast precipitation over the next several days, conditions are favourable to promote the deterioration of ice covers, which could lead to movement and break-up of ice covers in these areas.
The next report will be issued on Monday, March 30, 2009.
