FREDERICTON (CNB) - The following water level watch is issued by River Watch 2009 and the Department of Public Safety's New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization (NB-EMO) on Wednesday, April 22, 2009:

In response to the heavy precipitation during the past 24 hours, water levels have been increasing over most of the St. John River basin.

A second band of precipitation forecast for late today and into Thursday will combine with snowmelt from the above-freezing temperatures forecast for the rest of the week to increase water flows and water levels further.

Water levels for the forecast period are as follows:

Residents are advised to know the risks, make a plan, and prepare an emergency kit. Prepare now to help your family be safe.
