FREDERICTON (CNB) - The following flood warning is issued by River Watch 2009 and the Department of Public Safety's New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization (NB-EMO) on Friday, May 1, 2009:
In response to the forecast temperatures and precipitation over the next two days, river levels are expected to remain elevated across the province.
Generally, water levels are expected to decrease slightly along the St. John River basin.
The only area above flood stage is at Jemseg. Small decreases will occur through today; however, water levels will be at or near flood stage and remain there over the forecast period.
Persons living or working in low-lying areas subject to open-water flooding should continue to be alert to water level increases in their areas.
Prepare now to help your family be safe.
The next report will be issued on Monday, May 4, 2009.
