RICHIBUCTO (CNB) - An investment of $300,000 will be made for productivity improvements and to create 26 jobs at St. Ignace Wood Truss Ltd. in Richibucto, Premier Shawn Graham announced today.
"We are putting New Brunswick on the road to self-sufficiency by investing in the Kent region, and helping it to create more employment in all regions," said Graham.
Joining Graham for the announcement were Meldric Mazerolle, mayor of Richibucto, and Ola Johnson, president of St. Ignace Wood Truss Ltd.
Funding provided through the Regional Development Corporation under the $25-million Miramichi Regional Economic Development Fund will permit the company to purchase new equipment for productivity improvements at its floor-joist manufacturing facility.
"We are very grateful to the Province of New Brunswick for the contribution to this project," said Johnson. "This project has enabled us to create new and stable jobs, as well as break into new markets and produce products that were previously imported from outside New Brunswick."
