SAINT JOHN (CNB) - The provincial government is making a $60,000 investment to undertake improvements to the Lily Lake Pavilion in Saint John. Tourism and Parks Minister Stuart Jamieson made the announcement today.
"We are very pleased to be a partner in this important project for Saint John," said Jamieson. "Ensuring we have good recreational facilities helps improve our quality of life, strengthens our communities, and helps us work toward our goal of self-sufficiency."
Jamieson was speaking on behalf of Finance Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation. Robert Capson, chairman of Lily Lake Pavilion Inc., and Saint John Mayor Ivan Court joined Jamieson for the announcement.
"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Province of New Brunswick for the financial contribution to the completion of the restoration of the Hatheway Pavilion at Lily Lake," said Capson. "The construction of the canteen and Lily's Café in the basement will provide facilities for the entire community to enjoy."
