SAINT JOHN (CNB) - The provincial government is investing $20,000 to make improvements along a walking trail at Rockwood Park in Saint John.
Energy Minister Jack Keir made the announcement today, and he was joined by Kenneth H. Maybee, chairman of the board of Visit Canada Visitez.
"Investing in community projects such as this project will help us work toward our goal of self-sufficiency," said Keir, speaking on behalf of Finance Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation (RDC).
The funding, provided by the RDC, will help defray the costs of fabrication and installation of interpretive panels along the trail.
"On behalf of the volunteer board of Visit Canada Visitez, I would like to sincerely thank the RDC for its contribution to the trail," said Maybee. "Once installed, these interpretive panels will greatly expand the educational value of the trail, and complete the phase of this wonderful attraction."
