KEDGWICK (CNB) - An investment of $98,750 toward the acquisition of production equipment and the construction of a new production plant for PROJ-Ex Millwork Inc. will create 10 jobs. Finance Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, made the announcement today in Kedgwick.
"We are putting New Brunswick on the road to self-sufficiency by investing in the Restigouche region and helping it create more employment in all regions," said Boudreau. "Working with a company such as PROJ-Ex Millwork Inc. shows our government's commitment to economic development in Kedgwick and New Brunswick."
Joining Boudreau for the announcement were Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Donald Arseneault; Jean-Paul Savoie, mayor of Kedgwick; and Etienne Lagace of PROJ-Ex Millwork Inc.
"We would like to thank the provincial government for the contribution to our project for the acquisition of new equipment and the building for our new woodworking plant in Kedgwick," said Lagace. "It's great to be able to count on such help and maintain the people in our region."
The province will provide the contribution through the $30-million Restigouche-Chaleur Economic Development Fund. The fund, which expires in April 2009, is managed by the Regional Development Corporation, a provincial Crown corporation which plans, co-ordinates and implements regional and economic development initiatives for the province.
