INKERMAN (CNB) - An investment of $250,000 for a diversification project at FPM Peat Moss Co. Ltd., in Inkerman will create 18 jobs, Premier Shawn Graham announced today.
"We are putting New Brunswick on the road to self-sufficiency by investing in the Acadian Peninsula and helping it create more employment," said Graham. "Working with a company such as FPM Peat Moss shows our government's commitment to economic development in the Acadian Peninsula and New Brunswick."
Joining Graham for the announcement were Denis Landry, minister of transportation, and Denis Mallet, president of FPM Peat Moss Co.
"This is an important strategic investment," said Mallet. "It will permit our company to be more competitive on the value-added market."
Funding provided through the Regional Development Corporation will permit the company to acquire new equipment, including a bagging machine, a computerized system for value-added production, and dust collectors.
