BERESFORD (CNB) - An investment of $149,000 for expansion and productivity improvements and the creation of seven jobs at Discovery Drill Manufacturer (DDM) Ltd. in Beresford was made today.
"We are putting New Brunswick on the road to self-sufficiency by investing in the Chaleur region and helping it create more employment in all regions," said Business New Brunswick Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation. "Our investment shows our government's commitment to economic development in Beresford and New Brunswick."
Joining Boudreau for the announcement were Beresford Mayor Raoul Charest and John Labonville, president of Discovery Drill Manufacturer (DDM) Ltd.
"We are very fortunate to have the support of our government, which is working with entrepreneurs to make New Brunswick self-sufficient," said Labonville. "Discovery Drill Manufacturer (DDM) Ltd. manufactures a turnkey hydraulic diamond drill right here in New Brunswick that has proven itself with its performance, efficiency and safety for the mineral exploration companies in the world markets."
Funding provided through the Regional Development Corporation will permit Discovery Drill Manufacturer (DDM) Ltd. to purchase new equipment to expand its facility.
