ATHOLVILLE (CNB) - The provincial government is investing $150,000 in the creation of a tire plant at Pneus ABC Tires Inc., creating 13 jobs. Business New Brunswick Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation, made the announcement today in Atholville.

"Our government is putting New Brunswick on the road to self-sufficiency by investing in the Restigouche region and helping it create more employment for northern New Brunswick," said Boudreau. "Our investment shows our government's commitment to economic development in communities across the province."

Boudreau was joined by Michel Morin, director of finance and administration of ABC Tires Inc.

"This important business project would not have been possible without the provincial government's financial contribution and the commitment of Business New Brunswick, the Regional Development Corporation and Entreprise Restigouche, to which we extend our thanks," said Morin.

Funding through the Regional Development Corporation will permit ABC Tires Inc. to establish a facility for retreading and remanufacturing tires, including truck and bus tires.
