ST. GEORGE (CNB) - An investment of $480,000 will be made in the establishment of a senior's housing project.
Premier Shawn Graham made the announcement today with Fisheries Minister Rick Doucet, Walter Balasiuk, chair of the board of Atlantic Baptist Senior Citizens' Homes Inc., and Steven Campbell, executive director of Atlantic Baptist Senior Citizens' Homes Inc.
"Our government is pleased to be a partner in this project," said Graham. "New Brunswick's seniors have and continue to make important contributions in communities throughout our province. We are committed to ensuring that our seniors are treated with respect and have access to quality services, including affordable housing, when and where they need it."
Funding provided through the Regional Development Corporation will be used to defray the costs of constructing a three-level, 28-unit senior's apartment building.
"We appreciate the support of the Province of New Brunswick in helping make this project become a reality for seniors in the greater St. George area," said Balasiuk.
