MEMRAMCOOK (CNB) - The provincial government is making a further investment in renovations to the Eugène (Gene) LeBlanc Arena in Memramcook. The announcement was made on Sunday, June 13, by Justice and Consumer Affairs Minister Bernard LeBlanc.
"Investing in important infrastructure projects will improve the quality of life for the residents of Memramcook and the entire region, and this will also help us work toward our goal of self-sufficiency," he said.
LeBlanc was speaking on behalf of Business New Brunswick Minister Victor Boudreau, who is also the minister responsible for the Regional Development Corporation.
"This project is very important for our municipality," said Memramcook Mayor Donald O. LeBlanc. "I am pleased to have this partnership with the provincial government for the benefit of our population."
The provincial government is investing an additional $250,000 in the $1.5-million project, which will see an addition to the arena, featuring new dressing rooms, washroom and canteen facilities.
This announcement brings the provincial government's total contribution to $750,000.
