SAINT JOHN (CNB) - The New Brunswick Securities Commission advises the public that the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) is investigating Sung Wan "Sean" Kim, the principal of Cirplus Futures Inc., a Vancouver-based exchange-contracts dealer.
The RCMP Vancouver Integrated Market Enforcement Team has begun a criminal investigation into an alleged multimillion-dollar fraud scheme involving Kim and Cirplus. This scheme is believed to have targeted Korean-speaking communities.
Investors should not send any funds to Kim during the investigation, and anyone who has had recent financial dealings with or been approached by Kim or Cirplus is urged to contact the New Brunswick Securities Commission at 1-888-933-2222, or by e-mail at email@example.com.
