FREDERICTON (CNB) - Service New Brunswick and the Town of Sackville are teaming up to provide Sackville residents with the convenience of online government services.
Sackville Water and Sewer Payments can now be made online through the Town of Sackville's home page at http://www.sackville.com/, or through http://www.snb.ca
Making the announcement today were Business New Brunswick Minister Peter Mesheau, Sackville Mayor Jamie Smith, and Michelle Dunn, SNB regional manager for Customer Service in the Beauséjour Region.
"The residents of Sackville now have an easy and convenient new option for paying their Sackville water bill," Mesheau said. "This is the same leading-edge technology that allows New Brunswickers to renew their motor vehicles and their driver's licenses online. This is government service at its best, and we're proud to be able to provide this level of technology and convenience to the people of Sackville."
"This is a service that saves people time, and gives them back their lunch hour," Smith said. "Governments at all levels are striving to provide the best possible service for taxpayers dollars. Thanks to Service New Brunswick, we're able to provide the people of Sackville with world-class online service delivery. It's fast, convenient and secure."
Mesheau pointed out that New Brunswick has gained international recognition as one of the first jurisdictions to successfully initiate and deploy online access to government services. Through SNB, the Province and 45 municipalities are offering services through SNB Online.
"Service New Brunswick continues to redefine service delivery, and in doing so, is providing a tremendous example for every other jurisdiction interested in delivering e-government to its residents," Mesheau said. "This is better service for New Brunswickers and the development and deployment of this technology makes New Brunswick a world leader in e-government. We are moving this province to the head of the class."
Service New Brunswick is a provincial Crown corporation that provides more than 176 government services through 36 service centres: throughout the province, through SNB TeleServices, toll-free, at 1-888762-8600, and through SNB Online at http://www.snb.ca. Service New Brunswick is also responsible for real property assessments and its line of registries, including the personal property registry, the corporate affairs registry and the real property registry.
