MONCTON (CNB) - The gates at the Petitcodiac Causeway will be closed for a few hours today as part of Phase 2 of the Petitcodiac River Project.
The Department of Supply and Services will be closing the gates temporarily to test their operation as it conducts a bottom contour survey analyzing the water depth and track new forming channels. This is part of the monitoring process called for in Phase 2.
The three-phase project must comply with conditions approved by the Department of Environment set out by a federal-provincial environmental impact assessment.
