FREDERICTON (CNB) - The province's 2009 summer tourism marketing campaign was launched today by Tourism and Parks Minister Stuart Jamieson.
Included in the campaign are:
"I am very excited about the upcoming tourism season," Jamieson said. "We know that with these challenging economic times, people are looking to stay closer to home this year. We firmly believe that our marketing strategies, combined with some other initiatives we will be launching this summer, will heighten the awareness of what New Brunswick has to offer, particularly in the regional and Quebec markets, and encourage eastern Canadians and Americans to choose New Brunswick as the place to spend their summer vacation."
Among the significant improvements to the website are:
The television advertisements began airing in the regional market on April 6 as part of an overall marketing campaign, including social media, online and print advertising,
The advertisements build on the New Brunswick Maritime Magnifique brand for the second year of a two-year program. In addition to the advertisements used in 2008, two new advertisements were created this year focusing on outdoor activities and popular New Brunswick attractions. New advertisements promoting the province's warm waters were also developed for the Quebec market.
