FREDERICTON (CNB) - Eight of New Brunswick's nine provincial parks will open on Friday, May 15, for the 2009 summer camping season, in time for the Victoria Day weekend.
The other park, Herring Cove, will open on Friday, May 22.
"Each of New Brunswick's beautiful provincial parks offers unique experiences," said Tourism and Parks Minister Stuart Jamieson. "What they have in common, however, is breathtaking scenery, cultural and recreational activities and camping that is second-to-none.
"A visit to one or more of our parks is a summer vacation highlight for New Brunswickers and visitors alike. I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy some of the great activities and adventures waiting to be experienced at provincial parks this weekend and all summer long."
Because of the heavy snowfalls in the province, conditions in the parks may vary. Some services may be limited due to snow or wet and muddy conditions. Visitors are advised to call ahead to make reservations for camping.
