FREDERICTON (CNB) - The Princess Margaret Bridge in Fredericton will be fully closed to traffic for five consecutive overnights (6:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) next week. The first closure begins on Monday June 22, at 6:30 p.m. The last one will end on Saturday, June 27, at 6:30 a.m.
Transportation Minister Denis Landry said the closure is being scheduled as Phase 1 of the bridge rehabilitation project continues.
"The contractor (Marid Industries Ltd.) will be installing three remaining work platforms and loading materials and staging onto the platforms," said Landry. "The contractor will also bring a second crew to work during the day on the steel superstructure (when the bridge is open)."
