GRAND BAY-WESTFIELD (CNB) - Construction is expected to cause periodic traffic delays on Route 7 in Grand Bay-Westfield on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The delays are expected as blasting takes place at the construction site of the Highland Road interchange.
"Debly Enterprises Ltd. of Saint John won the competitive tender by the Department of Transportation to do the necessary clearing and grading for four access ramps," said Transportation Minister Denis Landry. "The value of this construction is about $1.4 million."
Additional funding of $5.4 million was announced in May by all three levels of government for the construction of a collector road from Route 7 into the community.
Landry thanks motorists for their patience during this construction period. He reminds drivers to be alert to work crews and to obey reduced speed limits in construction zones.
