SCOUDOUC (CNB) - Route 15 between Moncton and Shediac will be reduced periodically to one lane in the westbound and eastbound lanes until the fall because of construction underway at the Scoudouc Industrial Park Interchange.
Transportation Minister Denis Landry and Justice and Consumer Affairs Minister Bernard LeBlanc made the announcement today.
The Department of Transportation has awarded two tenders, to Caldwell & Ross Ltd. and Vail Civil Contractors Ltd., for grading and bridge work at the interchange. These contracts exceed $7 million. Tenders will be called for additional contracts as part of the department's $439.3-million capital budget for 2010-11.
"I am pleased to see the advancement of this key initiative for southeastern New Brunswick," said LeBlanc. "This project, when completed, will improve the traffic flow and act as a catalyst for new development in the industrial park and for this region."
