EDMUNDSTON (CNB) - An information session will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, on the proposed reconfiguration of Route 2 from Edmundston (the neighbourhood of Saint-Jacques) to the Quebec border.
The session will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the second-floor conference room at the Palladium de Saint-Jacques, 25 du Parc St., Edmundston (Saint-Jacques). Department of Transportation staff will be present to discuss the conceptual plans
"This government is working closely with the Province of Quebec to complete the final portion of the four lane Trans-Canada Highway through New Brunswick," said Transportation Minister Denis Landry. "This proposal would complete the remaining four kilometres of the four-lane Trans-Canada Highway between the Saint-Jacques area and Route 185. This is an important link between our two provinces, and it will also provide a safer travel corridor for the travelling public and the trucking industry."
Landry said the proposal takes into consideration the location of the existing tourism facility, future traffic operations, environmental impacts, safety and cost.
