SCOUDOUC (CNB) - There will be planned traffic interruptions on Route 15 between Shediac and Moncton during the next two weeks due to construction of the Scoudouc Industrial Park Interchange. Transportation Minister Denis Landry issued the traffic advisory today.
"When wind conditions permit, steel bridge beams and girders are being installed over the highway during this period," said Landry. "To detour traffic, we are making cross-overs and the opposite section of highway will be made single lane in each direction. The posted speed limits at the cross-overs will be reduced so motorists can expect traffic delays. We encourage drivers to be patient, slow down in the construction zone and also plan ahead and adjust their travel during the peak times."
The Department of Transportation currently has two contractors on site doing work valued at more than $7 million dollars. The successful bidders were Caldwell & Ross Ltd., doing grading-road construction, and Vail Civil Contractors Ltd., doing bridge work. Landry said his department will be calling a tender for paving work in the coming weeks.
