FREDERICTON (CNB) - Details about two paving tenders and four bridge rehabilitation projects in the Carleton and northern York counties were announced today by Transportation Minister Denis Landry.

The projects are part of the department's third consecutive record capital budget.

"By investing more than $1.3 billion into our transportation infrastructure since 2007, the provincial government is helping to create jobs, support the economy and more importantly has made a difference for people and communities," said Landry.

Work begins today on the Monquart River #2 Bridge (Sutton Bridge) on Route 565 in Holmesville. About $90,000 is being invested to replace the bridge deck and undertake other improvements. The bridge will be closed for about four weeks, between Monday and Friday. It will be re-opened on weekends.

Landry outlined five other projects:

"I request the patience of motorists during the construction period while these routes are being worked on or are temporarily out of circulation," said Landry.
