SUSSEX (CNB) - The Lower Cove Overpass, located on Riverview Drive East near Sussex, will be reduced to one lane for about 12 weeks due to repairs.
The Department of Transportation will be replacing expansion joints, repairing the bridge deck, applying new waterproofing and repaving the 42-year-old concrete beam structure.
"We are investing more than $140,000 so this bridge will continue to serve motorists in Kings County well into the future," said Transportation Minister Denis Landry. "As part of the department's third consecutive record capital budget, this government is renewing key infrastructure to support people and communities in all corners of the province."
Traffic lights will be in place on the bridge. Motorists can expect some delays and are encouraged to be patient and adjust their travel times. Drivers should anticipate work crews being on site and reduce their speeds in the construction zone.
