RIVIÈRE-DU-NORD (CNB) - One of France's biggest travel magazines has profiled the Village Historique Acadien (VHA) in its May issue. The monthly Grands Reportages featured the tourist attraction as its special destination for the issue with an article entitled "Le village à remonter le temps" (The village that goes back in time).

"The VHA's presence in the magazine supports New Brunswick's efforts to attract the French to visit the province, particularly since we know that Grands Reportages has a great reputation in France," said Clarence LeBreton, assistant deputy minister of the Department of Tourism and Parks and executive director of the Village Historique Acadien.

Established more than 30 years ago, Grands Reportages has a circulation of 60,000 with a monthly readership of over 500,000.

The article is available in the "Press Releases" section of the VHA's website.

Opened in 1977, the Village Historique Acadien strives to portray the lives of Acadians between 1770 and 1949. More than 40 original buildings are staffed by interpreters in period costume who bring the ancestral customs and traditional trades back to life.
