FREDERICTON (CNB) - Team New Brunswick is recruiting for the volunteer position of team manager of the National Artists Program for the 2009 Canada Summer Games, Wellness, Culture and Sport Minister Hédard Albert announced today.
The Canada Summer Games will be held in Prince Edward Island from Aug. 15 - 29, 2009.
"The team manager for the National Artists Program provides creative, artistic and moral support for young New Brunswick artists in the program," Albert said. "This is also an opportunity to gain an awareness of the production of cultural events at the Games, and to work with young artists."
The team manager will be responsible for orienting Team New Brunswick's three young artists to the National Artists Program and the team atmosphere, will act as chaperone, and will stay with them in the Canada Games village.
Applicants should be bilingual, at least 22 years old, have experience in leading team initiatives, have the ability to encourage excellence through the arts, and be able to assist with artistic production elements. The team manager's travel expenses, team uniform, meals and accommodation are provided.
