New Brunswick musicians to perform in Vancouver during Olympics (10/01/08)

FREDERICTON (CNB) - World-renowned soprano Measha Brueggergosman of Fredericton and Ode à l'Acadie from Caraquet will join a talented roster of musicians representing New Brunswick at activities scheduled during the Winter Olympics next month in Vancouver.

Wellness, Culture and Sport Minister Hédard Albert made the announcement today.

The artists will perform at Atlantic Canada House and Place de la Francophonie from Feb. 13 to 28.

"New Brunswick is pleased to be represented in Vancouver by such talented, well-known performers," said Albert. "Our province is bursting with accomplished artists who make us very proud and whose talent deserves to be shared with the entire world. I am proud that artists from New Brunswick have the opportunity to be part of this unique artistic and athletic celebration and to serve as ambassadors for our province."

The co-ordination of the New Brunswick artists' participation in Vancouver was entrusted to Marc Chouinard, general manager of the Capitol Theatre in Moncton. Other artists could be added to this list in the weeks to come.
