FREDERICTON (CNB) - New Brunswickers are being invited to express interest in serving on the board of directors of the New Brunswick Museum.
"The New Brunswick Museum is a significant provincial cultural institution," said Wellness, Culture and Sport Minister Hédard Albert. "This process provides an opportunity for New Brunswickers to participate in the ongoing development of New Brunswick's provincial museum."
The board of directors is responsible for policy, long-term planning and financial operation of the institution. Ideal candidates will represent the business, academic, heritage or cultural community. Geographic representation from throughout New Brunswick, the two official linguistic communities and First Nations is considered in the composition of the board.
Expressions of interest may be submitted until Thursday, April 15:
The New Brunswick Museum is Canada's oldest continuing museum. It is responsible for the preservation, understanding, management and interpretation of the natural and human heritage of New Brunswick.
The New Brunswick Museum operates two facilities in Saint John (the collections centre on Douglas Avenue and the exhibition centre at Market Square) as well as a provincial outreach program. More information is online.
