FREDERICTON (CNB) - Qualified candidates are reminded that expressions of interest are still being accepted for consideration of appointment to upcoming vacancies on the New Brunswick Advisory Council on Youth. The council reported earlier this month that there will be vacancies for the positions of chair, vice-chair and board member.
"Those appointed will take on high levels of involvement and commitment," said Ivan Corbett, executive director of the council. "They will attend and participate in board meetings, and be active and keep current on youth issues and council-related work between meetings. Members will also participate in a variety of events, and provide feedback on complex issues."
The council consists of 13 members from across New Brunswick, and is the provincial body representative of youth. It voices the interests, needs, concerns and perspectives of young people aged 15- 24, and presents recommendations to government and the public.
Expressions of interest for the positions must include a cover letter and resume, with details of education, volunteer/board/committee experience, work experience, and contact information (telephone number, mailing address and e-mail address). They may be submitted by e-mail at: Nominations.NBACY-CCJNB@gnb.ca; by regular mail at: New Brunswick Advisory Council on Youth, P.O. box 6000, 130-77 Westmorland St., Fredericton, N.B., E3B 5H1; or by fax at 506-444-4413. The deadline for submissions is noon on Thursday, Nov. 6.
