Backgrounder - New Brunswick Highway Corporation

The New Brunswick Highway Corporation (NBHC) was created in 1995. This Crown corporation deals with lands and highways for which administration and control have been given to it by the Minister of Transportation with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council. Its specific responsibilities are defined in the New Brunswick Highway Corporation Act.

The ministers and deputy ministers of Transportation and Finance are members of NBHC's board of directors, and the president and two other members are appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council.

The board of directors currently consists of:

  • David Johnstone, Deputy Minister of Transportation, President
  • John Mallory, Deputy Minister of Finance

  • Bryan MacDonald, Assistant Deputy Minister, Treasury Division, Finance
