Parts of government

In New Brunswick, the public service includes four main sectors, each with its own distinct role in serving the community

Civil service (or Part I) - includes government departments and agencies responsible for creating and implementing government policies and services
School system (or Part II) - includes teachers, bus drivers and school district employees
Health system (or Part III) - includes health-care professionals working in the regional health authorities, hospitals, clinics, and extra-mural care
Crown corporations (or Part IV) - such as NB Power, NB Liquor, and WorkSafeNB
